All quiet on the Arsenal front

*Originally posted 13th April 2011

Morning all!

Very little to discuss this morning which in many ways is quite good given all the events of the last week – Wengers fall out with the press, The chairman’s reaction to fans criticism, the win against Blackpool and of course all the takeover business.

Just going back to Wenger and the press, it was interesting that whilst speaking at Monday nights AST meeting John Cross from The Mirror mentioned how Arsene no longer makes himself as readily avaliable to the press as he previously has.

Considering all they seem to write about these days are the managers failures to, see any controversial incidents on the pitch, add defenders & goalkeepers to the squad and maybe most importantly alleged affairs, it is possibly little wonder.
We’ve still got four days until we face Liverpool, which of course is a massive game, a massive game. It’s a little early to even begin to speculate on team/squad matters, all we know is that Szczesny & Djourou have returned to full training and that their return would be a very timely boost indeed so fingers crossed.

Little Jack Wilshere was keeping supporters spirits up last night via his Twitter Page, dismissing any speculation about a move to Man City and stating that Arsenal are in his heart.

He really is saying all the right things this week, keeping faith and helping to motivate the fans. Lets just hope there is a similar feeling growing within the squad.

United knocked Chelsea out of the Champions League last night  adding another two games to their fixture list. Hopefully it will also mean Chelsea take their revenge when the sides meet in the league in a few weeks, well as long as Ancelotti keeps Torres on the bench.

Denilson has been touting Brazilian Willian for a move to Arsenal ahead of a widely reported switch to Stamford Bridge from Shaktar Donetsk I don’t know much about him so can’t say if I agree with Denilson but if he did join us we could rework The Smiths ‘William it was really nothing’

And that is about that for today…

Lets hope the Spuds get a spanking in the return leg against Real Madrid tonight, it is the very least they deserve.
Thanks for reading.

Up The Arsenal!
